'Top Gun 2' Ready For Takeoff With Tom Cruise In The Cockpit?

If you suddenly, inexplicably feel the need for speed, the urge to belt out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" in a bar... or the strange inkling to play beach volleyball in jeans, there's a reason: Paramount Pictures officially wants to reunite Tom Cruise, director Tony Scott and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for "Top Gun 2."
Vulture has [...]

Gemma ArtertonCasting is coming together for "Men In Black 3," and the names of those newly announced should get you plenty pumped for the upcoming threequel. The film will take place in both the present day and in 1969, and follow the MIB employees -- Will Smith's Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones's Agent K -- that we have come to know and love, as well as some newcomers.

According to Pajiba, Alec Baldwin is in negotiations to come aboard as the '69 Men In Black boss, while erstwhile Bond girl Gemma Arterton would play a secretary during that same period. "District 9" and "A-Team" star Shartlo Copley, meanwhile, is in negotiations to play what Pajiba describes as a "fast-talking Yoda type alien."

The trio would join the previously cast Jemaine Clement, Josh Brolin and Emma Thompson. Brolin is playing a young Agent K from 1969, while Thompson will be the head of MIB in the modern day. Then there's Sacha Baron Cohen, who will be voicing an alien named Boris.

Clement is playing a villain named Yaz who travels back in time to 1969 in order to kill Agent K, which will destroy the Earth in the present day. "Dancing With The Stars" champion Nicole Sherzinger has been offered the role of his girlfriend.

Filming is set to start in New York City next month, and is expected to run through February. If the previous films are any judge, expect news of plenty more cameo appearances over the next few months.

Are you excited by these new casting additions?

Barber's Adagio for Strings and Its Link With Trance Music

The oboe has been around as a significant solo instrument since the Renaissance and so it is not surprising that there is a very substantial repertoire of oboe pieces available. There is a massive repertoire of Baroque solos for the instrument and there has been another burst of activity in the last century or so. In between, during the Classical and early Romantic periods, there were far fewer solo pieces written.

Being a part-time guitar instructor, I agree on the old saying "talent is 90 percent effort". Learning how to play guitar could be challenging. But with the present of guitar instruction DVD on the internet today, mastering the chords, the rhythms and everything about guitar is easier. The traditional teacher-student arrangement could be the most efficient way to learn guitar.

Sometimes actress Mischa Barton, that mischievous miscreant of heinous celebrity fashion, struck again this weekend at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic which was held here in Los Angeles, CA yesterday. Mischa showed up at the event with what looked like a dead skunk strapped to her head in an obvious attempt to make a fashion statement. Unfortch for Mischa, the statement she made looked like a real stinker:

As you may recall, Mischa made it very public that she has decided to quit drinking but her outfit choices seem to belie that fact. Still, I hope she continues to put her best fashion foot forward … because critiquing Mischa Barton‘s fashions is far more entertaining than her attempts at acting and modeling.

As we are all well aware, Lindsay Lohan has been rehabbing herself at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA while she awaits her next court appearance on October 22 to answer for her most recent probation violation due to 2 failed drug tests. TMZ is reporting that Lindsay has been making huge break-thrus in her rehab therapy and has come to realize the source of her life’s woes … namely, her father Michael Lohan:

Lindsay Lohan is doing a lot of thinking at Betty Ford, and she’s already reached one big conclusion — she’s in the mess she’s in largely because of daddy Michael Lohan. Some of Lindsay’s friends and relatives tell us … LiLo is spending a lot of time talking to counselors about the path that led her to drug and alcohol addiction. And she’s convinced the nightmare of growing up in such a dysfunctional family has taken its toll. Lindsay repeatedly talks about allegations Dina made in her divorce papers … that Michael abused her. Lindsay says she witnessed it firsthand, and it’s still tough to deal with. In particular, Lindsay claims she had to step in and protect her mother from Michael. Michael has denied allegations of physical abuse. Our sources say Lindsay talks a lot about growing up with a dad who was periodically behind bars. Add to that — she moved out to L.A. at a very young age, with almost no parental supervision.

Not so fast, says estranged daddy Michael Lohan. According to him, he is not solely to blame for Lindsay‘s mess of a life … he believes that much of that blame belongs to mommy Dina Lohan as well:

Michael Lohan is lashing out at claims he’s the root of Lindsay Lohan’s problems — what with the violence, prison stints and general bad behavior. Michael tells TMZ … Dina was violent as Lindsay was growing up, and it left an impression. Michael claims when Lindsay was 4 years old, Dina was arguing with his mom and Dina allegedly smashed a phone across grandma’s face, requiring six stitches. And Michael says, on another occasion — when Lindsay was a teenager — Dina went nuts on Michael, flew over two beds to get to him and accidentally knocked herself out. Michael adds it was Dina’s idea to leave Lindsay in Hollywood at a very young age, even though LiLo had a stalker.

I personally believe that both Lindsay and Michael are right … BOTH of her parents are to blame for her woes. It’s only because Lindsay is close to her mother (who, I believe, enables her reckless behavior … which L. Lo mistakes for love and support) that she is not able to see that she has suffered due to the actions of both of her parents. I gotta say, tho, that the scales to tip toward Michael Lohan more considering he’s a former jailbird. As much as Lindsay is responsible for her own illegal actions (and should be punished for those actions), I do feel a twinge of sympathy at the notion of being raised by Dina and Michael Lohan. If she truly wants to clean up her life, she’s gonna have to do it without the influence of either toxic parent. Ugh.

The troubled star’s legal team want the length of the court-ordered terms – which are presently scheduled to run until August 2011 – lessened, as they fear she will “get in trouble” before the period ends.

Lindsay is presently in the Betty Ford rehab centre in Los Angeles, following two spells in prison this summer; serving 13 days of a 90-day jail term in July before briefly being returned in September after failing drug tests, although she was released hours later on $300,000 bail.

A source explained to RadarOnline.com: “The longer Lindsay stays on probation, the increased chances that she will get in trouble because of problems staying compliant with the terms of her probation.

“The only person that can modify terms of Lindsay’s probation, or terminate it early, is Judge Elden Fox.”

‘Machete’ actress Lindsay could again face a return to prison, as she is due in court on October 22 for a probation hearing, after her failed drug tests, which could see her incarcerated again for violating the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence conviction.

Friends of the star have said she isn’t worried by this prospect, however, and is prepared to return to jail.

One pal said: “The fact is jail doesn’t scare Lindsay. Before she did her time earlier this summer, she was petrified. Having spent time behind bars, it doesn’t have that effect on her. Jail isn’t a deterrent for her, period.”

Jim Carrey And Ewan McGregor Flaunt Their Love In The 'I Love You Phillip Morris' Poster

It's safe to assume that in the long history of the world, more than a few people have busted out of prison to be reunited with the person they love. It's also safe to assume that the number of times the aforementioned "person they love" was the (now-freed) cellmate they met in the stir is [...]

What sets "Megamind" apart from this year's earlier villain-as-hero animated flick, "Despicable Me?" After all, they both follow an evil mastermind as he learns that evil might not be so great after all, and they both have minions. But you know what "Despicable Me" doesn't have? A Will Ferrell voice over, that's what.

So yes, the two films seem on the surface to be very similar, but judging by the first five minutes of the movie that have hit the web courtesy of Nickelodeon, "Megamind" has a definite charm that should win over the same audience that made "Despicable Me" a not-so-despicable hit.

The intro of the film follows the titular villain as he is sent away from his home world by his parents, who then die as their planet is sucked into a black hole. Some parents from a nearby planet that is also soon-to-be destroyed send away their son for the same reason, and thus begins the long-lasting rivalry between Megamind (Ferrell) and the Superman-esque Metro Man (Brad Pitt.

But it's Ferrell's commentary as Megamind narrates his youth -- he ends up being raised by prison inmates which is why he ends up so deftly schooled in the mores of villainy -- that makes the film so humorous. From what I've seen at Comic-Con, the film goes the unexpected route fairly quickly, but as long as Ferrell's G-rated humor remains the same, "Megamind" looks to be a film well worth seeing.

What did you think of the first five minutes of footage? Does the video make you want to see the movie? Let us know in the comments!

NYCC 2010 Round-Up: Scoop on 'Zoolander 2,' 'Predators 2,' 'Your Highness' And More

It was wild times indeed this past weekend at New York's Javits Center, where fanboys and fangirls -- many of them dressed like Chewbaccas, Predators, Princess Leias, Super Marios and N'avi warriors -- showed up in droves of thousands to geek out about comics, movies, TV and anime at New York Comic Con 2010. I [...]

Disney announced in March that it plans to shut down Robert Zemeckis' digital animation studio. Apparently "A Christmas Carol" — and its lackluster domestic box office showing — will be one of the studio's swan songs (get excited for "Mars Needs Moms," people!). Yet the closure, so it seems, will have no bearing on the status of "Yellow Submarine," Zemeckis' 3-D motion-capture reinvention of the classic Beatles cartoon.

"That will be going in April of next year, so we're gearing up for that," star Cary Elwes, who will be voicing the role of George Harrison, told MTV News at New York Comic Con, where he was promoting "Saw 3D."

Elwes is not only set to voice Harrison but will slip on that rather flattering mo-cap outfit to play the role. "It's more than a voice. We actually have to perform the roles," he said. "If you know much about motion-capture, it's not just voice-over work. You really have to perform the role."

When I asked if Elwes would be going for a straight imitation of Harrison or if he had any room to strike out into new vocal territory, the actor declined to get specific. "I can't really talk too much about it because I signed a waiver to the effect of not discussing it," he said. "But I can tell you it's going to be a really exciting film. I'm thrilled to be part of it."

He did say, though, that Harrison's family (the guitarist passed away in 2001) has been supportive of the project. "I know the family a little bit and they're very happy about it. I think the film will be really extraordinary thanks to 3-D," Elwes told us. "Today we're able to reinvent the film in a way that will be very, very exciting."

The Beatles' Muse

Perfect finish, fine tuned strings and that great sound you get from the high end quality strings. All of this sum up the perfect guitar. The Taylor acoustic guitar range consists of a wide selection of guitar choices for you to choose from. Since it's of great quality, the range of pricing would be somewhere between moderate prices and the upper end of it, but there are a few beginner guitars that can be bought for less. If you've wanted to get one for your child, this article is for you!

Dubstep music was one of the first genres of music to emerge in the 21st century, having developed right around the start of the new millennium. Flower arrangements have been used for hundreds of years in order to celebrate certain occasions, either symbolizing sadness or happiness, depending on what the situation called for. A tradition kept for countless years, flower arrangements are developing more and more into a fruitful business, as they are gathering more and more clients on a yearly basis. 'Jackass 3D' Stars Say The Situation Acted 'Too Cool' For Steve-O

'Steve-O loved him too,' Wee Man says about how the Sitch brushed off the 'Jersey Shore' superfan at this year's VMAs.

Although Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has likely been earning thousands of new fans since starting his highly publicized stint on the latest season of "Dancing With the Stars," it seems the overly confident "Jersey Shore" stud might have some repair work to do if he wants votes from a few of his fellow MTV stars. The cast of "Jackass 3D" — including Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGhehey and Ryan Dunn — have some beef with the Sitch.

"We do not like the Situation," Wee Man recently revealed to MTV News. "He cool-guy'd Steve-O at the VMAs."

"Cool-guy'd"? We needed a translation.

McGhehey explained that it was akin to brushing someone off with an uninterested nod of the head. "Cool-guy'd. Like, whateva," he said demonstrating with a turn of the neck.

"He was too cool for him," Acuña added.

"He was not that impressed with Steve-O," Lacy reiterated. "Go figure," Dunn joked.

"Uh-oh. Now we're starting sh--," McGhehey warned.

But Wee Man went on to clarify that this wasn't simply about being snubbed at a big awards show. What made the incident particularly irksome, he said, is that Steve-O is such a big fan of Sorrentino's hit show, "Jersey Shore."

"And Steve-O loved him too," Acuña said. We then pointed out that the Situation is technically following in Steve-O's footsteps with his "DWTS" gig. Perhaps he'll be eliminated soon?

"Soon," he laughed. "Not soon enough."

Still, in spite of the "Jackass" castmates' beef with the Sitch, Steve-O said the snub hadn't dimmed his appreciation for the reality series.

"I have a rescue dog named Walter, and Walter and I are such fans of the 'Jersey Shore' that we changed his name to DJ Wally D," Steve-O confessed. "Yeah, he pulled a little bit of a 'cool guy' routine," Steve-O confirmed. "But then again, that's kind of what he's supposed to do, right? Be a douche bag?" he laughed. "What am I, like, going to be shocked?"

Don't miss "Jersey Shore" every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Check out everything we've got on "Jackass 3D."

Back in July we learned that Glee was planning to do a episode based on the cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show … and today we get our first look at promo photos for the ep! Here are a couple of our fave Glee characters Finn (Cory Moneith) and Quinn (Diana Argon) in Rocky Horror drag as Brad and Magenta respectively:

Finn’s look started out “pretty bland, like the nerdy character Brad is,” says costume designer Lou Eyrich. But once Cory Monteith put on the black-rimmed glasses and got a side part in his hair, he transformed. “Cory’s just a big goofy nerd and so is Brad,” says Colfer. “He was perfect.”

“Here, Quinn [Dianna Agron] is one of the partygoers for our big ‘Time Warp’ dance scene,” says Eyrich. “When the hairstylists told us they wanted to give Dianna a pink wig, we gave her a pink top and glittery hat. To make it more youthful, we used a high-waisted pant from H&M and a gold cummerbund.” Quinn does double duty in the production, joining Santana (Naya Rivera) as dual versions of kinky-wigged domestic Magenta.

After the jump, check out 3 more promo photos and see what Rocky Horror characters Kurt (Chris Colfer), Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Dr. Carl (John Stamos) will portray on the ep …

“Riff Raff is the best character, and everyone was amazed at how incredible the makeup was,” says Colfer. “I was mistaken for a blonde woman a couple times. All I kept thinking was, ‘You did this to yourself, Chris.’”

“At first, Sam [Chord Overstreet] is wearing tiny little gold shorts, but then they decide that’s maybe not appropriate for a school play, so he ends up in these gold board shorts and tank top,” explains Eyrich. Overstreet was shocked when he saw what little he’d be wearing. “He was a really good sport but hit the gym extra hard,” adds Eyrich. But Colfer has no sympathy: “Ha! Take that, new guy!” Glee Rocky Horror Picture Show

When Puck drops out of the production, John Stamos’ Dr. Carl fills in — crashing his motorcycle through a stage wall. Since it’s difficult to imagine hunky John mimicking a role played in the film by Meat Loaf, Carl does “his own sexy version of Eddie to intimidate Will [Matthew Morrison],” says Eyrich. “It was actually John’s idea to do a take-off on Elvis’ leather-suit look from his 1968 TV special.”

As I’ve made clear before, I don’t really like The Rocky Horror Picture Show but I must admit, these promo pics give me hope that the ep will be fun despite the fact that I’m not a fan. I cannot wait to see which Rocky Horror characters the other Glee characters will portray. This looks fun. What do YOU think Rocky Horror fans? Are you impressed?
