Most people who know at least a little bit about rockabilly music from the 1950s realize that small independent record labels--most notably Sun Records, Starday Records, Jaxon Records, and a few others--drove the phenomenon called rockabilly. It was these small labels that were willing to try something new and unproven. They gave unknown musician after unknown musician their chance at becoming a rock and roll star. But although the big labels weren't about to be the first to take a chance on these unknown rockabilly cats, it didn't take them long to jump on the bandwagon once those rockabilly records started selling in real quantities!

Lawsuit Against Dr. Dre Dismissed!

Detroit officials reportedly attempted to sue Dr. Dre and Eminem for recording and releasing a 2000 confrontation they had backstage during a concert at the Joe Louis arena, claiming that they had no right to put in their Up In Smoke national concert tour DVD, but the case has been dismissed!

We're finally going to get to see him in all his glory! Let's hope they don't eff it up!

There's been a lot of speculation about who our web-slinging friend will be up against in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, but it appears that finally, the villainous cat is out of the bag, and it's a doozy!

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT.

Co-star C. Thomas Howell may have inadvertantly reuined the surprise when he began discussing his minor role in the feature, and let it slip that Spidey would be up against the Lizard during a fight scene on the Manhattan Bridge!

Holy shiz!

He explains:

"There is not a whole lot to talk about. Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now. I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker who's son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the Manhattan bridge. Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation. There is some payback there at the end of the movie. Spider-man is kind of hurting. I help him when all of the other people won't. Part of the story is, the nation thinks he might be a bad guy. They don't know what to think. Because of my experience on the bridge with my kid, I know he is a good guy. I pitch in and help out at the end. That is the best way."

NICE! That scene sounds seriously AWESOME!

And we're definitely down for the inclusion of the Lizard in the franchise (FINALLY!) so long as they don't eff up the CGI!

But to be fair, everything we've seen from the production so far, we're feeling!

Oscar-nominated actress Jill Clayburgh passed away at the age of 66 on Friday.

She was best known for her portrayals of strong, independent female roles, including the role in 1978's An Unmarried Woman, in which she was nominated for an Oscar.

Her recent TV work included guest appearances on Law & Order, The Practice, Nip/Tuck, and as a regular cast member on Dirty Sexy Money from 2007-2009.

She once said, "I guess people look at me and they think I’m a ladylike character. But it’s not what I do best. I do best with characters who are coming apart at the seams."

Clayburgh suffered from chronic leukemia for 21 years and died in her home in Lakeville, Conn.

So sad.
